About Drumming

Ajamaat Percu Project’s aim is to research the origins of modern musical rhythms through percussion. It’s a fascinating quest that goes back through history and world cultures. Percussionist Lino explores the roots of contemporary rhythms by studying ancient musical traditions, traditional percussive instruments and ritual practices.

This may involve the analysis of African tribal percussion, indigenous instruments of the Americas, and many others. The Ajamaat Percu Project also explores folk music traditions, religious and spiritual influences, and the cultural exchanges that have shaped the diversity of rhythms.

The study of percussion in different cultures uncovers unique rhythmic patterns, specific playing techniques, and deep cultural connections. It’s a rich exploration that contributes to understanding the world’s musical diversity and the evolution of rhythms that characterize modern music.
